Vintage Japanese chef knives !!

i have few Japanese knives found in Japan by one of my friends.
Traditionally hand forged 50 years ago, made with tamahagane !
No damascus here, only very good steel and very well made... nothing for eyes, all to make a perfect cutting tool !

By far my best knives

I'd like to see a closeup of the steel..looks like laminated blades- although the hard edge could be tamahagane

yes it is a laminated blade . Soft iron with edge made of tamahagane.

easy to sharpen and take a screaming edge for a loooooooong time :thumbup:

you're right !
i live in France near Thiers, capital city of knives! i have many vintage French knives and modern knives from France and Japan .
this knives are better than any knives I have ever used !

this ones are unused !
my friend blacksmith in Japan sent me few sets... i will work with this knives for my whole life
