I inherited the reel from my uncle who lived in California who used to deep sea fish and I used to deep sea fish and when I lived in California but I haven't used in few years so I thought someone else my get some use out of it. It has breaded line on at present and I honestly don't remember what pound line it has on it but I do remember that no fish ever broke the line. It works well and it looks good for it age and yes I think it would hold a tuna.

Just to provide some context… they are great, workhorse reels… slow retrieve so you can winch a hog off the sea floor. On the east coast of Florida I used these for grouper in fairly shallow water <100’… but they can be used hard for years.
