Selling a couple vintage Gillette razors. First one up is a 1958 (D-4) Gillette "Fatboy" adjustable. This happens to be the first year of the adjustable, which increases the collectability of this razor quite a bit. It is is really nice condition. The safety bars are nice and straight, the razor opens and adjusts completely and smoothly, and the plating is nice and shiny. There are one or two VERY small spots of what may be plating loss. One little spot on the knurling of the handle and one on one of the safety bars. Most likely made from being tapped on the edge of a sink by some guy while shaving. Neither effects the shaving performance at all. I believe $50 $43 is a very fair price.
Next up is a 1947 Gillette Super Speed. This is another one that is quite hard to find. This particular razor was only made one year. If you do a Google search you will find that this style came out in 1941 and was called the Ranger Tech (I also have one of these in the original box... MINT!!). It was slightly different than what it listed though. The end of 1941 the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor and Gillette ceased civilian production of the Ranger Tech to do their part in the war. It was not until 1946 Gillette started making the Ranger Tech again. Designs changed again the following year and the razor was renamed the Super Speed. In 1948 the design changed yet again with the introduction of the notched center bar. That allowed blades to be pulled from the dispensers with the notch in the bar. The design did not change again for some years. That makes the design of the 1947 Super Speed unique. The one I have for sale is in excellent condition. No plating loss, the opening mechanism works flawlessy, and everything is perfectly straight. $35 and you can own a piece of history. SOLD
All prices are firm. PayPal add 3%. I will ship via USPS with tracking after cleared payment is received. If outside the US, shoot me an email at jfever311@yahoo.com
