This knife was brought to me by a friend that has had it in his possesion for over 25 years or so. In there catolog they list this as a Classic Bowie that has a 14 inch blade , 5 3/4 inch elk handle and is 3/8 forged stock. It has a brass parrying strip and Ruana say's that it is a reprouduction of a knife that possiblely James Bowie carried at the Alamo. This knife unlike the current model in there catalog has a steel guard instead of brass maybe some of you Ruana fan's can use this to date this knife. I have emailed these pics to Ruana and I am waiting to recieve info back once I do I will post it on this ad.
The knife is in overall good condition the handle and guard are tight and the blade has no chips. There is some light pitting on the blade. The butt and the steel guard have some oxidation that could probale be removed but I left them as is for this is as he recieved it and I did not want to hurt the value by working on it.
