Wow, I can't believe the reaction to my post. I'm so sorry for interrupting. I thought I could get help on something I know nothing about. I don't care about selling it, I'm not sure why everyone is so crazy about selling, selling, SELLING ... I just wanted to know if it was valuable and would have loved to know what it was.

Ah well ...

No. This is what happens when people post vague, useless requests for information and expect to get a detailed answer. Try posting "I have a vehicle (I think), that may have wheels, could be 30 years old, and I need to know what I can sell it for" and see the reply's the web will give you. Bullshit questions get bullshit answers. Failure to read or search a forum where there are specific instructions on how to get the answer is lazy and shows either a lack of basic computer skills, literacy issues, or ridiculous expectations.

Gee, maybe because your original post said,
I have an original and vintage Sabatier knife (I am pretty sure). It looks hand forged with a hand carved wooden handle with little brass circles pounded into the handle. The blade is just about 12 inches long. The handle is about 4-1/2". It is ridiculously sharp and think it has been sitting in an attic for 30-50 years.

Any ideas how much the item might be worth? And, the best way I can sell it, safely. I live in southern Wisconsin.
