I have come across a Schrade 2 blade auto in my Father-in Law's stuff it is 3 inches long , the large blade is 2 inches long the small blade is about 1 1/2 inches. It is black with ivory colored swirls. Both blades open to 100% the small blade is very tight when extended, the large blade has a very small wiggle when extended. there is minor oxidation on both blades and they appear not to have been sharpened both blades have no chips or broken tips, there is no rust on the knife, the last pat. date is June 1916 can anyone tell me more about the knife and is approx value....I

You might want to edit the last line of your post. You're treading very close to trying to sell without a paid membership and in the wrong forum. That can get you banned pretty quick.

Start a free account on Photobucket and upload the pictures, then post them in Bernard Levine's subforum. I know the smaller Schrade double auto was made in shadow and tip bolster, with the tip bolster being less common. My 1986 Sargent's Guide shows a mint condition value of $55 for the 3 1/8" with assorted celluloid scales. Adjusting for 25 years of inflation and subtracting some oxidation would probably kick it up around a hundred bucks or so for a ballpark figure.

Thanks for the info...I am a newbe here so I did edit the post, I really don;t know if I want to sell it ....just looking for info on when it was made and how rare or unrare it is I have a few more knives that I found with his things but they look old but I am sure common knives ... an old girl scout knife is interesting however...I am a blade person myself ...again thanks for the warning and info
