I was lucky enough to get a really nice haul of old tools at an auction last week. I thought I would share some of the items I picked up.

Here is a Trojan axe head that I cleaned up with a Philadelphia tool co half-hatchet. I am really excited about the Trojan, I've read they were an Australian company that made racing axes. It weighs about 1.5 - 2 lbs, so it may become my camping axe if I can find a handle of the right length.

Most of the saws are Disstons; bottom saw is a Stanley.

And the coolest thing I got was this electric whetstone grinder. The stone is about 17" in diameter and has a nice and flat face. I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged it in and it worked, because I don't think it has been used in years.

Thanks for looking.

Awesome haul. When you use the grinder, make sure you wear a mask. Don't want that stuff getting in your lungs.

Careful with that electric stone. I saw a pic of one someone hooked up to a electric motor that exploded when it was been used and sent chunks everywhere.

that my friend is COOL stuff.
i have a soft spot in my heart for old tools:) my father-in-law gave me his fathers tools. my inlaw is 68 so they are all old and in damn near perfect shape. all have been used quite a bit but have been taken care of with the TLC that they deserve.
nice score.
