The wood phenolic pieces came from the estate of knife maker Tedd Dowell.
One person who saw this thought it was wood micarta by Westinghouse.
But since there was no label I am just calling it vintage wood phenolic. What I do know is that it is old and it is well made with any visible flaws.

The 1st picture shows the edge. The 2nd photo shows the faces which are the flat sawn surface of the veneer.
These blocks are made of paper thin wood veneer that is stacked with contrasting colors and a phenolic binder.
This is very hard material that will be similar to cutting and shaping ironwood.
I believe the material was intended to look like Rosewood.

I am making these pieces available here only. These are all I have of this material. I found this while cleaning shop today. It had been set aside and forgotten.

Still 5 of the black paper phenolic blocks left.
I originally got this stuff for kitchen knife makers to use as ferrule material.
