Good Afternoon,
I wanted to make something really different so here is the Viper. This first one is made from 1084 full flat ground and then hand sanded to 1500 before etching to bring out the Hamon.
The handle is brass and stacked leather. The guard is soldered in place and it turned out very nice the fit is tight and there are no pin holes. The stacked leather was soaked in epoxy and compressed into place using the threaded pommel which was then peened into place so nothing can ever shift. The tang is 5/8" wide x 1/4" thick with the exception of the 1" long x 1/4-20" of threaded area for the pommel so there is plenty of material underneath the leather.
The balance point is right at the back of the guard and the knife feels very fast in the hand.
The sheath is 10 ounce leather and was dyed green before the black finish was applied. If you catch it right in the light you get a hint of green that is very subtle.
Price SOLD , shipping is included to continental United States via USPS. Preferred payment is via paypal.
Blade Steel: 1/4" 1085
Grind: Full Flat
Blade: 7 1/4"
Handle Material: Stacked Leather and Brass
Overall Length: 12 1/8"
Sheath: Right hand leather
Weight: 12.5 ounces
