Viper Vox Odino vs. Boker Plus Jesper Voxnaes F3 II

I've always liked the Viper Vox Odino but recently noticed the Boker which looks pretty similar.

I like that the Boker weighs a bit less, has an S35VN steel blade (I've read that N690 is a good steel as well) along with a steel lockbar insert/overtravel stop (not a big concern but nice to have) and is a little less expensive...but was disappointed to see that it's made in China. Most of the reviews have been pretty positive for the Boker but I'm hesitant to buy a Chinese made knife.

I'm also assuming that the Viper Odino will have a better resale value which is an obvious plus.

Anybody have experience with both and if so, which would you recommend and why?

Thanks in advance.

I've heard that as well but it seems like the Boker Plus knives are typically pretty consistent/good.

The F3 II has the worst pocket clip I've ever seen. It's not possible to use it out of the box. I had to bend it like hell. Now there's a gap between the handle and clip, but at least it works somehow.
The factory edge is very bad, too. It's a terrible wire edge. I guess they forgot to deburr it.
You should try to handle one before. I found it a bit difficult to open one handed.
The finish of my CF handles isn't very nice, too.

I can't really recommend this knife.

Not too concerned anout the edge since it can be sharpened...what's so bad about the pocket clip?

The Fortis is the best production rendering of a Vox design in my opinion.

This right here. The Fortis is one of my favorites and very underated. I had a odino, great knife. I would somewhat compare it to a techno. Its smooth, stout and has good ergos for a liitle big knife. Only reason i git rid of it was i was chasing something else and needed the cash. I do wish they used a better steel though. Boker has left a bad taste in my mouth, so ill leave it at that. I would go with a cf odino or for a little more pic up a fortis.

Just ordered a Viper Kyomi this evening. Really enjoy all of the Vox designs and anticipate some of his other models will be following.

I own both and like them both. I have the Ti scales on the F3 II and had no problems with it including the clip. Boker knives are always a hit or a miss but this one is a hit. I think you may end up liking the F3 more with use. Better ergos than the Odino.

I own the F3 CF and the F3 II CF and both have the same clip.
The knife sticks out of the pocket very far when carried tip up. But that is no critic, just personal taste.
The problem was to get it clipped to the pocket. The clip has an extremely high detent. You couldn't get a piece of paper between it and the handle. I had to use a LOT of force to bend it so much that it works. I was glad it didn't snap. Now it is possible to clip it to my pocket but it's very loose.
It's hard to understand how a manufacturer can mess simple things like a pocket clip that much up.
I don't know if the ti handle version has the same problem.
But I think it's sad for a knife in that price range...
