An email worm has been spotted circulating among us knife knuts. It can only affect your system if you are using Microsoft Outlook Express for your email program and haven't been keeping up with critical updates at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
Info and fixes for Wscript.KakWorm at http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=10509& and http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/wscript.kakworm.html
"The worm utilizes a known Microsoft Outlook Express security hole so that a viral file is created on the system without having to run any attachment. Simply reading the received email message will cause the virus to be placed on the system."
Yet another reason not to use Outlook Express. Microsoft has issued a patch for this hole and no doubt they'll continue to issue patches for their security holes after viruses appear that exploit them....
