Vise in the S.R.Johnson DVD

Building a Sub-Hilt Fighter. Great DVD by the way!

He uses a vise that holds the blade sandwiched between what seem like two pieces of rubber. The vise pivots so you don't have to take the blade out to reposition it.
Anybody has something similar or has an idea about it? I really would like to build one myself.

Hello Pad,

I have the same type of vice that Steve uses in the video.

I purchased mine from Pop's Knives and Supplies in the late '90s.

He now sells a different version, here is a link to what he has now.

The version I have is bigger but the new one should work fine,

Function is similar to the vise at Pops and looks fairly easy to make. Heckuva nice vise too :thumbup:

Cool! Thanks to you both. I will try and build one like in the pics cause I like building things and play money is tight. But if it doesnt work I'll go with Pops.
