Vishawa Karma Puja Specials for Forumites

You might be pleasantly surprised on both those counts. My Manakamana Special was also posted by Yangdu at 17.5", but it turned out to be a full 18" in length, measured in a straight line from the point to the center of the end of the handle.

Also, the satisal in the picture of my MS looked very dark, almost like horn. That's because the wood had a very fine dark grain that was polished up so it looked almost like marble when I got to see it in person.

These MS knives really are something special.

Looking at that picture I would SWEAR that is horn. If it comes in at exactly 18" that would be nice and I guess I could see it being the same weight as a same length ASTK. Basically the shape of the curved part of the knife is what will differ between them.

Look forward to comparing it side by side with 18" ASTKs and an 18" Siru.

Ah-ha, I'm in luck! It seems there IS another Seax with a square shaped guard in Reno which will be heading my way. I had been wanting to like the Seax, but none of them spoke to my until the one with this guard popped up. Thanks to the creative Kamis and, of course, to our wonderful host out in the computer shack.

It is horn and Auntie has amended the original post.
She apologises for the mistake, she is just very busy with customers and IRL things right now.
If it is a problem, contact her to discuss return.

Can't wait to get the BDC and Bilton along with the M43 I got separately. Should make a nice start to my HI collection

No problem here, I think the horn handles are beautiful.

I do also, but it depends on the knife whether i will want horn or wood.
I like to have both in my collection.

I think the horn is definitely a bit more "slick" but the handle design on Khukuris seems to work very well at keeping my hand in place.

My initial preference for dark wood is still there, but horn is catching up.

Most excellent! Congrats!

I really like this Manakamana Special. I'm glad they decided to make more than the initial 5 because this is a GREAT knife. I used to think my 18" ASTK was the best combination of weapon and tool I had amongst my Khukuris; this 18" Manakamana Special has changed that opinion.
