So I finally coughed up the ten bucks and changed over to my real name. It makes a lot more sense now, since I no longer make "Vorpal" knives after learning about Tom Maringer, Bobby Branton, etc. I believe it will make more sense to steer all things in the direction of name recognition as well, if I am ever to win fame and fortune as a knifemaker. (Cough, ahem.) Anyway, just thought I'd let y'all know.

Now I won't have to keep going to your website to look up your name. :D Hows the move to the mainland coming along?

Damn it Phil, I shouldn't have changed my name then as you were probably about 50% of my site traffic! All my stuff (900+ lbs. of tools) and my truck shipped out the 21st, my last day at work is the 27th, and the wife and I are flying out on the 30th. Almost pau! Actually, I'd like to meet you before I leave. PM me or something if you would have the time some afternoon...

Oh, and please do check my site out, Marion David Poff, as you will be +/- 50% of my traffic today.:D

Thanks Bruce. I appreciate your remark. I've got a LOT of work to put in to get CLOSE to your level of recognition...:)

By the way Bruce, less than a week and I will be back in god's country, good ol' Washington State!

I'll be living out in the hills outside of Tonasket, a little closer to Republic. What I would love to do sometime is take a knifemaking road trip around the state (or even the country) visiting whatever makers would put up with me for a day or a couple of hours, learning new things and seeing beautiful places, camping and such. I know there are quite a few talented makers in Washington.

In my opinion it is a good idea for makers to use their real names on knife forums. That way potential customer will know who they are.

Salem be sure to include me on your knifemakers tour.

Bobby, Bruce, I am THERE. I will be seeing you probably some time in the next year...

Thanks for the input, Keith. I agree.

Bobby, I threw a couple of your knives up at Ken Onion's house. I like 'em.

Hey man, I must be at least .06% of your traffic! :D Congratulations on the username and venue change. Too bad I live in such a hellhole, or I'd invite you out here too. But there's nothing pretty to see here except our back yard, which my wife has had the vision to make into a haven. Other than that it's just corn over the horizon ... which is flat as a plate.

But we do like knives around here. ;)

Good luck with your move.
