Voted, still at #3. My comment: Ethan Becker's unparalleled handles, with Kabar's 1095 Crovan and heat treat, at a bargain price? Yes please....

I agree with others who said that that kind of poll doesn't actually say much other than how well-known a certain brand is among the people who saw that poll. I never would have even known about that poll or the site it's on without this thread. *shrug*

That's just how the interwebz work, and any doofus can "vote". Even me! :o

But... when people who actually know some stuff post to it with some real facts and honest opinions based on experience, that does reflect a certain amount of reality. So while the "rankings" are sort of arbitrary and not-particularly-meaningful, it may actually have some value to a person who's looking for a very good, affordable production knife.

Maybe some person will see that, google Becker knives, learn about them and Uncle Ethan, then find this forum, and... well, heck, that's not a bad thing at all. ;)

well said. this site is kind of like an Angies list. if one or two folk discover what we already know, we all have been good and fateful Beckerheads :)

What I just noticed when looking at the results is that the info on the list on the right side of the page says that the list was started --

3 years, 361 days ago

and has now had over 900 votes. I bet 80% have been in the last 4 days. :D
