Ethan is a good friend and I know many here are Ethan Becker fans (and thrilled that BK&T is back in his hands). I thought you might want to help Ethan out in another part of his life, his day job, so to speak. While I am sure many already know this, to others it may come as a surprise that Ethan is the editor of the all-time best-selling "Joy of Cooking" cook book. It was originally authored by his grandmother and he and his wife Susan continue the tradition, having earlier this year released the 75th Anniversary Edition. The new Joy is the best yet (a great gift for any cook, BTW!) and has just won the cookbook category of the Quill Awards, Best Cookbook of the Year. This is the publishing industry's equivalent of the Oscar, Emmy, etc., and is voted on by those in the industry, booksellers and librarians, etc. Joy is now eligible for the Book Of The Year award, which is voted on by the general public.

Please help our friend Ethan by voting for Joy of Cooking at:

Joy is the third book down in the right column. Balloting ends Wednesday, October 10th, so VOTE NOW! (and please pass this along)

Did it! It was a heart-breaking decision, though.
I REALLY wanted to vote for Algore's book :p

I voted as well. Actally Joy is one of my often used books.

Edited - Thats Joy of Cooking, not the other Joy of...

Voted for Joy, although I was tempted to vote for Sedaris' book. Well, maybe not, but I do like her work.

Doug,
We just voted for Ethans book. Ethan is a good friend and we were glad to help him out. I hope to see you and Ethan again at PWYP. I will be doing a 3 day condensed survival course before it begins.

Voted. Now I have to buy the new edition. Mine is the earlier one. Hopefully he slipped a few wild game recipies in.

PS- Algore wrote a book? His energy stock portfolio? The high cost of electricity at his Nashville mansion ($1,500 per month)?

Done it Doug- it was my first cookbook. My jaw bounced on my desk when I first found out there was only one Ethan Becker!
