Vote: Is this the most beautiful knife in the World

It's nice, but, is it the most beautiful knife in the world? No, not in my opinion. Just doesn't do anything for me.

Sorry,

Mike

Even Rob would probably agree that it is not one of the most beautiful knives made. I am certain it is typical Simonich superb quality but beautiful?, NAH

Now, show me a wootz damascus and MOP Ken Onion and I will scream BEAUTIFUL!!!!

To each their own. If you think it's beautiful. . .that's all that counts !

Personally. . .

The handle rocks !

and. . .

The blade length rocks !

but. . .

Don't care much for the tanto.

still. . .

It's a very cool knife !

That rocks ! :D

I think it looks nice but in a utilitarian sort of way. I'd use the adjective "beautiful" for something like this.

Actually I dont think it is very pretty! :D I do like that knife better with a spear point myself.

Now that intergal ROCKS! :)

All very NICE knives! Although they are so garish I wouldneed to be wearing a tux to carry them. The tanto is kinda' a quirky design matched with that type of handle, though.

Beautiful, for me, is simplicity and practicality of design. My mentality is anything that Tarzan would be able to deploy effectively and usefully is a beautiful knife.

Maybe that is why I favour tactical blades. :D

That Davidson skinner is absolutely stunning! I only wish I could afford to buy it. The engraving pattern is beautiful, and looks like he actually weaved that pattern with strips of steel. Really is a work of art that is perfectly functional as a skinner also. Man, I would love to own that knife.

Mike

Like others have wisely said, whats beautiful to you is what counts, and everybody has their own sense of style, well except maybe my friend Paul who, well, thats another story, but, my vote for most beautiful knife goes for something like this double action Dake folder. Its a good thing i own it, or id be jealous! :)

Or, here's a checkered black pearl Corbit, i dont own it, but think its awfully nice...

And one more, also WISH i owned it... Checkered mammoth ivory, inlaid rubies, great damascus, by Bill Pease.

Now, i would say all of these knives qualify as beautiful, but, as always, its in the eye of the beholder...

Hello Rob,

I am surprised about your remark. May I suggest you follow your heart and redesign the Nordooh the way you feel would be best for the user. Presumably, Dr. Ron Hood meant the Nordooh to be a bush/survival knife, however; if you have better ideas, then go for it!!

My suggestion, would be to give it some belly for skinning, also a clip point for stabbing.

Anyhoo, just my 2 cents.

Regards,

JB :)

It looks a bit on the large size to make a useful skinner. Although the pic doesn't show anything to bring it into scale, I would assume by the handle to blade ratio, that it is at least a 7 or 8" blade. Just seems a bit large to skin game with, but in a survival situation, you can make just about any size knife work.

Mike

imho, no offense to the maker, but my ass looks nicer to me, americanized tanto blades make my penis wither in sadness.

Jackboots, the handle is basically mine and Ron Hood designed the blade. He likes the knife in the field. As for re desiging, I just start over.

armlessbandit, I think the knife is prettier than your butt, unless you are a woman that is! One just cant tell with these handles anymore. :D

Beautiful? Hmmmm, bout the only thing I don't like about it is that tanto point. Otherwise, it is nice...

You want beauty? I saw a pic on here one time of Rob in a big ol' western hat and a bikini..... gotta tell ya man.. Groooowwwwllll. He put the GAL back in 10 GALlon hat, I do declare.

No wrong answer here, but there's a chance that it's a Russ Andrews Bowie with amboyna burl handle or a small JW Smith Folder with the same handle material.

Although Rob's designs normally look great IMO, I don't like this one so much, mostly due to the Tanto point.
