I heard on Car Talk that they are the best small car for a big guy because the shape gives you plenty of head room and you sit up on the seat, not like a lot of small cars.

As for Volkswagons though, everyone that I know that has had one won't buy another one.

My first ever brand new car was a '68 bug. One of the best vehicles I have ever had. Sadly, one day I was stopped in traffic and got rear-ended by a full sized Ford going about 60 mph. Only thing that saved my neck was those high backed seats (the '68 was the first year to have them)...
