I've been busier than a three-armed paper hanger around here this week, trying to get ready for my trip across country...
I didn't get to your email until today... I guess you can ignore my request to post pics!
As you can see, I'm not the only one who appreciates the work you, and Tom, have done for me.... As I said in my email, and Stabber so eloquently shouted - "
Awesome"!!!!!!
Hi all,
I have run into Bruce over the past decade at several shows out here in the Northwest and have always been captivated by his work, ranging from simple bowies to his intricate cut'n'shoots... And STeven's comments are so apropos - wonderful interpretations of period work with a modern and artistic flair. I've even managed to snag a beaut of his at last years OKCA show in Eugene (or was it the year before???) Anyway, I also asked him if he'd consider making something along some lines we had been discussing... he kinda wasn't overly interested since he was really involved in the Tortuga project and some others. He was worried he wouldn't have time and that I wouldn't have the patience... Well, I said, "Hey, I don't need it next week, just tackle it if and when you can..."
Just prior to this years OKCA show, he emails me and says he's finished forging the blade - "Do you still want it???" And after all kinds of issues.... Here it is... AND I STILL WANT IT!!!!!!!!
Bruce has been a wonder to deal with and I'm honored that he took on my request... And your comments, written before I knew he had posted, really are a tribute to another one of our forums great artists!
Now... I just have to wait till he sharpens it!
