I think this one turned out great!

I took some steel off the width of the blade and it completely changed the look of this hunter!

And of course some sweet W2 hamon action! You can see exactly where I had applied clay on the bevel

I left the handle at a smooth matte 800 grit! Which compliments the blade nicely.

So..... Here's the deal.... I'm a filthy animal.... Does it stain easily? I own NOTHING white because I will stain it in 5 minutes flat.... But man that white on red does it for me...
I'd say it'd probably stain pretty good, even if we took it to 2k and buffed it! You'd have to seal it with something non porous. Something like a super glue finish would work probably!

That is one serious beauty! Fantastic job!

I generally agree with the other poster of not preferring white for my handles but this one is beautiful and I love it! Those contrasting edge cut pins are really really nice and then the look of the contrasting liners, the satin finished steel spine, the shape, just everything. Well done!

And then that blade shape and the hamon 🤤

I hope someone hurries up and buys this before my sense of financial responsibility runs out! It's getting strained at the moment!

Thanks boss! 😁 Well I'm sure if you ended up getting it, you'd love it!

This is beautiful, and it's the ivory paper micarta that aids in it's beauty. You did an amazing job shaping that handle.

As someone who has owned and used knives with ivory paper micarta (I even have one on order at the moment), you guys are missing a trick. All micarta gets dirty, I just use a magic eraser for my paper ivory handled knives but mineral oil works too. Well worth it for the unique beauty that comes with it.

This one's a beauty for sure. Looks real comfy too. 👍

I was just going to post that I have had a couple white micarta handled knives and although I've never grabbed them with motor oil on my hands yes they get dirty or a bit dull, but they also clean up pretty nicely.
