A nice medium sized fighter bowie. Mortised tang coffin handle of really nice stag with six domed pins. The knife is a take down with blued mild steel final gold inlaid with a starburst. The guard is also blued mild steel with A LOT of raised gold inlay, roped edge and gold inlaid border on the face. The scrolls and leaves are raised 22k gold and give the engraving a lot of dimension.

The blade is forged W-2, 7" long. It has a lot of cool stuff going on int he steel. One side of the blade has a "hitatsura" hamon, where there are clouds of hardened steel intermixed with visible banding that resembles the grain in wootz. The mark sid eof the blade has similar effects, but not as visible and active.

The knife is 12" overall, and balances at the guard. It also comes with a sheath made by me.

Asking SOLD shipped conus.

Hope you all enjoy :)

Awesome knife dude! I'd love to see that hamon :). By the way, I've noticed similar banding in w2, it's really beautiful. It makes the piece even more unique. Awesome bluing and engraving! I don't have the dough though :(...

Beautiful knife and an outrageous bargain for an engraved / gold inlaid / stag handled Master Smith bowie.

If I didn't have a matched set coming in from Bailey in a couple weeks, I would have been all over this in a heartbeat. Good on ya Ari if you were able to swing it - this would fit in just swell with your other awesome Bradshaw blades. :)

Bailey makes great knives that work hard. I have quite a few pocket knives and like them all. He did a gunstock with two 3V spear point blades and he also jigged the bone.
I must say that there is an extreme amount of talent on this for sale by makers area. The people are great, and there are some real high quality knives being produced. Good job to all of you. May you all get your Masters Smith papers and continue to lead the way in innovation.

Be well

I know Bailey is busy dealing with the storm headed his way, so though he hasn't yet marked this one sold, you can be sure, it is. :) I won't say who it's new owner is, but he's very good lookin'... Ok, I lied, it's me. :)

Just wanted to let everyone know I received the bowie and it's even better than I'd hoped. The F&F is perfect, the stag is much better than the pics show, some of the best I've seen actually, the unusual Hamon is as Bailey said, very cool and unique, and that heavy 22K gold engraving is out of this world.

It would have been a steal at twice the price, something I often feel about Bailey's knives.

Thanks B, for another great one. :)
