Well, today i was off school and it was pretty nice out by spring standards, so i wanted to go out and use the W. Crump knife that Walder Davis was generous enough to send me for his give-away. i got it a week ago and ive used it everyday since, and it is super sharp. the only work ive done to the edge is a little stropping here and there.
a testament to its sharpness (graphic-ish pic):
okay, here are the specs that i know:
blade length: about 4.5''
handle: about 4'' long, about an inch thick. made of some figured type of maple.
steel is O1 i think, and it has a full flat grind with a secondary bevel.
i got the wound bandaged up:
then on to more testing,
(i am just going to let the pics do the talking, since typing is a little challenging with a gauzed up finger, put if you've got any specific questions, just post and ill get them answered.)
i didnt want to baton the whole thing with the knife, since it gets pretty thin towards the tip, so i finished off the log with a wedge.
attempted artistic shot:
handle is purdy:
more on the way!
