HERES A WORK IN PROGRESS OF THE PATINA FINNISH I DO ON THE FLATS AN SWEDGE ON MY BLADES,TO GET A FULL PATINA ON THE INTIRE BLADE YOU BLUE THE WHOLE BLADE AND JUST SHARPIN THE CUTTING EDGE

CLEAN YOUR BLADE UP,AND GET RID OF ANY RESIDUE IT HAS ON IT YOU CAN CLEAN IT WITH WINDEX ECT,THEN TAKE A TOWEL FOLD IT UP AND DIP IT IN BLUING AND BEGIN DABBING ON THE PLACES YOU WANT THE PATINA FINNISHI LET MINE SET FOR 5 MINS OR SO,THEN I TAKE A TOWEL AND WATER AND RUB THE BLADE LIGHTLY TO REMOVE THE BUILD UP AND EXCESS BLUING,REPEAT TILL YOU GET YOUR DARKNESS YOU WANT,THEN I USE CARNUBA WAX ON A LOOSE BUFF AND WAX THE PATINA AREA,I APPLY HANDLES SAND AND EVEN FINNISH THE KNIFE,THEN I GO TO MY GRINDER AND REGRIND THE BLADE TO WERE I WANT THE PATINA TO SHOW,EVERYONE HAS THERE OWN WAYS THIS IS HOW I DO IT,ITS BETTER TO USE LIQUID BLUING RATHER THAN PASTE IN MY OWN OPINION,MANY SIFFRENT WAYS YOU CAN DO THIS U JUST NEED BLUING AN A IMAGINATION. :D

Thanks very much for this WIP. I appreciate the time you took. I love your "forced patinas"! I tried bluing one blade and got a nice dark finish, but it scratched really easy (Birchwood Casey's gun blu creme. It was all BPS had). I'll have to try this way and see what I get, thanks again!
