W.I.P. Steampunk knife (first try)

Very nice.

If you could get that copper tube to insert to the top and bottom at either end that would look cool, and go along with the steam powered theme.
My thoughts exactly.
Often it is that little design "kiss" that pushes great over the edge to fantastic.

Super work, keep them coming :)

Because of the heat on the attic the knife has to wait a while.

The steampunk knifebox has get his shape but still a lot of work on this one. It's Zebrano wood and Purperhard wood. I have to make a lot of brass and copper parts for this box.

very very nice. this is just the engineer in me coming out, but do you know the total number of pieces to make the knife?. just curious.

That is magnificent! I'm so glad you considered the advice above about bending the copper into the blade (or planned on it, yourself!) That is a great piece, and the workmanship should be appreciated even by those who aren't steampunk fans.

That really is just a fantastic piece, sir. I would love to know how many hours you have into it. I also appreciate that you are able to say that it is finally finished. That's a hallmark of a true craftsman - to know what needs to be done and no more. Really nice work!

Thank you, I also lost the count on the hours but I worked on the knife and the box for ten months in my spare time, so let me give you a estimated time...

Every monday, wensday, friday from 18:00 - 20:00 and on my free saturday and sunday a couple of hours for ten months, so a lot of hours....

Greetings Joost

Wow!! Absolutely love it.
