W&SS Spoon Contest Results

Of all of these, I narrowed down the entries to my personal favorites:
Defaultuser
FerrousKnight
mistwalker
patknives
Bryfry
Dingobubba

Looking over these entries, each one struck me in a different way. I narrowed it down further to
  • defaultuser - I really liked the very clean lines and simple style of this one.
  • Ferrousknight - one of the more complex entries, yet functional
  • patsknives - the wood looks amazing, and the lines flow very well. It's almost like a wax sculpture.

So, I'm going to let you guys decide who should win from these three.

I was more impressed with Unky_Gumbi design as it was the most complex and functional. Out of the three we have to choose from I would go with defaultuser. It is the simplest, it is well made, and it is cleaning finished.

All these entries are really great
those who attempted should be proud.

Hard choice but I would go (by a narrow margin) with defaultuser
second place I vote for patsknives

Mistwalkers entry really caught my eye
(need my shipping address?)

A great contest and a great experience for the first time carvers
(Ferrousknight keep it up,great work!)

Thanks Sparks

defaultuser gets my vote and represents what I would try to accomplish when carving a spoon. I need to learn more about trees and what is safe to eat with before carving anything.

There were a lot of nice entries and good inspirations here, choosing from the chosen three would be a tough choice for me. Maybe having entered the contest I am disqualified from voting...

If I should vote and can then I vote for Ferrousknight for the complexity of his design and great execution.

Mistwalkers entry really caught my eye
(need my shipping address?)

Actually if my daughter ever leaves it alone long enough I was thinking of sending it to Andy since it was made using only knives he made and fire...made in part using his knives too lol.

.

I like defaultusers' entry, if I had to pick one to use, his looks comfortable, functionally closer to a spoon from home and it looks easier to eat with, (like it would fit my mouth better.

That's just MHO.

Defaultuser.

Simple, but functional design and precise carving. As I was looking at the pictures before I knew who the finalists were, it jumped right out at me.

I echo what another poster said, defaultuser has made a spoon that would be easier to eat with, therefore he gets my vote. It's pretty too!!

Some very nice work here, and tough to pick just one, but I would reach for the defaultuser first

Great job everyone!

they are all great spoons
of course some more appealing than others
but all worthy efforts
glad i dont have to choose
thanks again for the contest spark

defaultuser gets my vote - though others were also beautiful, it stood out as perfect, both in terms of shape and form but also simplicity and utility.
