Off Topic W&W price gouging?

Hey BF,

wondering if an of my fellow canadians have looked at W&W prices recently. All of there prices have dramatically increased, and are now extremely more expensive than american knife stores. Disappointing to say the least. OFC including for currency rates, many models I've been looking at are 130%-150% more than other american knife stores.

I don’t deal with W&W because I have a local knife shop. However it seems to me that for some reason some knives in Canada are WAY overpriced, and others seem to be pretty much a 1 to 1 conversion on US prices. I wonder if the change has to do with the bogus new knife laws at the border.

I thought so too maybe, but heck they just got like 58 different hinderer models (after the knife change), are still around 110% (not as bad nearly as bad as many)if you seen the knives they've gotten after the CBSA ruling it would be hard to argue their imports have been affected. Also, something they've never done before, on knives like hinderer, the prices change daily in comparison to the exchange rate, so they're also like 110% more than the US, but depending on how the dollar is that they will be cheaper or more expensive.
 
Every time I've checked them they've been over or under a few percent from a US spot like Blade HQ.

One Eyed Jack, $247 US at BHQ or Knife Center. $365 CD or $284 USD vs the currency conversion but your bank won't give you that rate. That's also not looking at the freight and duty. That will be more than shipping inside Canada.

I get that but look at this example: ZT 0630ORBLK: I bought this knife a year ago for $290 CAD on W&W, now is listed at $399.
The ZT 0566BW, use to be about $229 CAD on W&W, now listed at $299 CAD. This isn't just increased prices for new stock, your point wouldn't answer why they've massively increased price on not new items.
Kershaw KnockOut Damascus W&W: $225 or $175 vs $120 on most american sites.
Normal Olive Drab/DLC Knockout: W&W $150 or $116 USD vs $75 USD.
In fact if you look at many of the ZT or Kershaw prices it is about 140% or 150%.

My point was, I've noticed the prices of knives they've had in stock for awhile increase drastically in price, and also implement a feature where there high end knives (specifically hinderer) price adjust daily due to currency conversion. Not to mention I've bought many high end knives from the US and even with the extremely expensive shipping/duty fees they still come out much cheaper now.
 
Looks like the Darn Dao is less than Blade HQ or Knife Center. Those monsters, tempting people like that!
 
That's quite the software for their store if all the prices are automatically adjusting daily vs. currency fluctuations.

Yes, I didn't calculate the exact prices on every item, but you cannot deny what I listed above.

Not all, just some knives and not really. I could make that very easily, it's pretty simple really. Also, get the fuck off my thread you maggot.
