Congrats, James; that's an outstanding example of Rachel's scrimshaw talent, and characteristic of her generosity!!
I have a couple of knives that are treasures for me because of Rachel's artistry.
One is a little stockman with the "most beautiful formula in mathematics" on one side and a feather on the other:



The other is a canoe decorated like a Native American canoe on one side and a composite of sights from my family's vacations along Lake Huron on the other side:

I never get things quite right…

but I know passion when I see it and there is a lot showing in the care and feel that was used to create such a work of art, not to mention the gift aspect!

I call it WICKED COOL. If one must mod a classic knife it can't be done better than with r8shell scrimshaw.

Those are fantastic GT!! Looks like Pure Michigan... a Heron on Lake Huron and I will look up the "most beautiful formula in mathematics" thanks for showing them.

Thank you all for your kind and supportive words. Seems we are in agreement... "Lock back" and we like r8shell's work. All of our polls this year have been pleasant and productive, this one included. Reminds me of some wise words I heard somewhere, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!"
