W2 and Black and White Ebony. Nice Hamon

[Bailey Knives]

This is some of Aldo's W2. It has been forged thinner and the blade has been left with forge scale on the flats, mostly because I like it. The blade has been clay quenched and it has a very bold hamon. The tang has been tapered slightly.

The handle is Black and White ebony. I like how it finishes up and the grain of this one is nice. It is held in place with regular pins and one mosaic, along with acraglas.

The sheath is 8-10oz leather from Wickett and Craig. It is hand stitched and tooled. The knife fits snugly and draws easily.

Is this the first non fileworked bailey of the modern era? Plus a tapered tang? Add in that Hamon and it's quite an alluring combo to say the least. Not to mention that it's a stunning piece.

Beautiful knives, beautiful sheaths, super fair prices..

I would like to see smaller blades 4" or less, like the one a week or two ago..
Hunting season is upon us everywhere..
Someday I will own a Bailey..

No, LA I did another non fileworked knife a while back. I dont really like doing them though. I always feel it is missing something. I guess some people like them although I am having a hard time seeing that.

Harleyguy, I have a batch of smaller knives that I am working on right now. Might have them done in a few weeks. Check in again then.
