Just finished this one a few minutes ago. Tentatively, it will be one of my 5 JS knives.

Steel: W2

Blade length: 5"

Total length: 10"

Handle material: African blackwood

Thanks for looking!

Man, that's awesome looking! If I'm perceiving the photo correctly, that's one thin looking enchilada.

Can't wait to see the 1086M and micarta camp knife and then the rest of your test knives!

lookin great phillip...the first word that came to mind was CRISP.....good luck testing!.....ryan

Now, that is a super JS test knife design, imho.

Clean, sweet and to the point.

Great start on the JS knives. If you decide to cull that one, I'd say you pass unanimously! ;)

Very, very clean. Very, very nice.

Beautiful Phillip! Keep up the tenacity and never settle and you'll continue to amaze us. You might even amaze yourself. ;)

Very nice. Philip, take care that your bolts are perfectly centered in the handle.
These look pretty good, but an off-center bolt can ruin your judging.

that is one great, practical looking tool.
I'd love to see a view looking down at the spine, (my favorite knife view, weirdly).
Is the ricasso polished?

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Thom, the edge is very thin, but the spine is almost 1/4" thick at the guard, and tapers to the point.

Anthony, the pins are actually what bothers me about this knife. They aren't quite perfect. So I'm going to make a replacement for this, and take both. Thursday I'll ask a bunch of people if they notice, if they do, this ones out.

Lorien, (BTW, what's your name?) the ricasso has the same finish as the rest of the blade, 600 grit. It looks shinier because of the "hotspots" in my light box. ;)

Phillip- believe it or not, Lorien IS my name!
