This is a piece of W2 from a 2 1/4" cylinder, forged out and heat treated with clay for a nice bold hamon. The spine is fileworked and the flats are left with the forge scale on them.

The handle...well, it is a bit of an experiment for me. I jigged my own camel bone, and treated it with potassium permanganate. Then I added a different dye and ended up grinding off most of the jigging. There is a bit of it left, and I considered grinding it all off, but decided I kind of like the looks of the remnants of them. Anyways, the handle looks kind of like bark ivory (a sincere apology to those who have used bark ivory, I am sure it is not even in the same league) I like the results, but it remains to be seen if anyone else does.

The sheath is 8-9oz hand stitched and tooled leather. The knife fits snugly, and draws well.

Dimensions
Blade - 3 7/8" tip to handle
OAL - 8 1/4"

Price - $215 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

Well done, Havoc. I told myself if nobody takes it in 30 minutes, I'll have no choice. :)

Matt, I'm impressed that you're going with more tapered tangs lately.

Harder to do, but the look and feel are really great.

Thanks LA. I don't taper them as significantly as some here, so I often don't even mention them. The last few that I have posted are at least slightly tapered. It is never the "knife edge" at the butt end though.

Well LA, I hesitated for a night when I first saw one of Matt's knives and it was taken before I came back on. Being pissed at myself, I said I would grab the next one I liked. Well, I liked all of his following knives and missed my chance every single time. So, the 30 minute window, I totally understand. In fact, I was looking, refreshed, saw your first post and then went for it.
