This is W2, clay quenched for a very nice looking hamon. The spine is fileworked, although it got washed out a bit when I was grinding the handle down. I left the forge scale on the flats.

The bolster is black canvas micarta, and the handle is buffalo bone scales. They are held in place with 4 regular pins and one mosaic, along with acraglas.

The sheath is 7-8oz hand tooled leather. I have been trying to master the tri-weave stamp. This one turned out fairly well, I am pretty happy with it.

Dimensions - 6 9/16" tip to handle
OAL - 11 1/8"

Price - $SOLD shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

I have shipped to Canada, Singapore, Germany, and a few others. So yes, but there will be a different shipping fee. I can put it in a flat rate box, it should fit in a medium, which I believe is about $13-$14 worldwide.

here goes
i'll take it.
i didnt see where anyone else made a commitment on it.
just odd that one of you knives sat on the board this long matt.

It's yours fz1. Thanks. I will get it ready for you. They dont normally sit that long. I was about ready to put this one in the bin for the Ohio show. Hope you like it.

Three days ain't that long. :) A lot of makers would consider that quick, especially at this price range.

For the last couple of years, you've maybe had what? One or two knives up every month or so? They were such a rare sight that the moment one was up, it was gone. You're now posting knives for sale a little more often. I assume this is because you stopped taking orders anymore. Anyway, this shift means that your big fans might be able to rest a while and be more selective. And a big plus for that is that your knives will finally be able to reach a wider audience. I'm thinking of the people who constantly complain that they're never on line in time to buy one. You'll definitely expand your list of customers.

Maybe one or two of those new customers can be a a great repeat customer like fz1boxer or gga.

I've also seen that you've been building really great larger blades lately (YES!), which of course will be more expensive than small blades. the $250-$450 range will mean more lookers and less buyers than the $150-$200 range.

I think a good comparison will soon be Matt Lamey. He posts knives in the $500-$700 range and it's very common for them to sit and wait a handful of days until the perfect buyer comes along and makes the investment.

Buyers beware! I'll be back in the hunt in a couple of months. Just had some money goals to reach and I'm getting close.

Keep them coming, and keep exploring!

Always a fan, Matt!

Thanks guys. I wasnt really too worried about this one. I havent started putting knives away for the show yet, and last year, I started in March. I was fine with this one going into storage, and I am also very happy that Fz1 bought it. The lack of taking orders really has allowed me to post more in the for sale forum. It also gives me the freedom to make what I want so I am ok with it.
I spent the afternoon after church pressing out some more san mai. There should be more of that coming soon.

got my knife yesterday matt
another great piece to further deepen my collection.
i did my happy dance when i saw it.
