I forged this for an order and like an idiot, forged the ricasso in too short. The knife for the order was supposed to be 9-10 inches long, and this blade is about 7 1/4" long. A pretty big difference, but it happens...at least to me.
So this one is forged from W2 from Don Hanson. It is ground on a rotary platen for a hybrid between a flat and a convex grind. I polished the blade to 2000 grit and clay quenched it to bring out a really nice hamon. It is razor sharp. It can cut a compound into individual elements (a little chemistry humor I have been dying to try).
The handle is black linen micarta finished to a flat black instead of a glossy one. The guard is stainless. The tang goes nearly to the end of the handle making for a nice strong knife. The handle is contoured and fits well in the hand.
The sheath is 8-9oz leather from Wickett and Craig. It is hand tooled and has a Sam Brown stud to keep it in the belt.
Dimensions
Blade - as mentioned 7 1/4" long, tip to guard.
OAL - 13"
Price - $400 shipped to US. I prefer paypal but will accept check or money order.
The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

I tried hard to get good hamon shots. I did OK, but it really does look better in real life. Any perceived marks on the blade are reflections. I really have to work on my hamon photography.
