This is a beautiful camp knife with black walnut handle scales. There is some chatoyance in the wood.
The blade is just over 8" long. It has been clay heat-treated, with a lively and interesting hamon. The blade is carefully polished to show-off what W2 can really do when heat treated properly.
Here is a link to a web album with pics. I included the blurry pic because you can see "utsuri" shadows between the hamon and the spine. Those are evidence of careful control in heat treatment and appropriate distribution of clay. They are a rare and desirable characteristic.
