I am not sure "Hawkbill" is the best name for this, but it is what I chose, so that is what it is called.

It is some W2, forged and left with forging marks on the flats, because I like how it looks. The spine is fileworked and the blade is clay quenched for a very nice and bold hamon.

The handle is very good looking cocobolo held in place with acraglas and pins, including one mosaic.

The sheath. I tried a new design and kinda like it. It is open in the spine area is open and has a strap and a Sam Brown pin to hold it in place.

Dimensions
Blade - 7 1/4"tip to handle
OAL - 12"

Price - $295 shipped to US. I prefer paypal to matt@baileyknives.com, but will accept check or money order.

So awesome.

Won't last long. I love hawkbills.

You need to make more of these, and try one with a straight edge. They it would double as a wicked kitchen duty knife as well!

WOW! Matt, you know I'm focusing on other things besides collecting right now, but that is AWESOME!! What a wicked looking blade. Nice work:thumbup:

Beautiful all around - knife and sheath. Nice work. Thanks for the pictures. Mike

Thanks Matt!

This knife is proof positive that orders can sometimes get in the way of a maker's need for creativity, and why I so much enjoy buying from the "one-offs" that Matt posts on the forums.

I never would have even thought to ask for this design from him, but I'm thrilled to be the one that gets to come home one day and open her up.
