This is some of Don Hanson's W2. It starts off in a 2" diameter cylinder. I cut off a cookie and drew it out into bar dimensions. I then forged the knife from the bar. The blade is clay coated for a nice and bold hamon. The bevels are polished to 2000 grit to show the hamon well.

The handle is bias cut micarta. I have a fairly thick hunk of old micarta. I can cut off pieces of the width of it, and use them for handles. It gives a nice look to the handle. I cannot tell the number of people that mistake it for wood. The pins are peened and it is all held together with acraglas.

The sheath is 8-9oz hand tooled leather. I stitched it on my machine (which I love!) The knife draws nicely and fits snugly.

Dimensions
Blade - 4" tip to handle
OAL - 8 1/4"

Price - $235 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

I have wanted one of your knives for a while now. This one is absolutely awesome. I got hit by a hail storm last week and need a new roof and had to pay my deductible to get my truck repaired. Had that not happened I would own this knife. One of these days I will own one your works of art.

Very nice treatment of the handle material and great shape to it as well. Love the blade work. Great knife.

I've already complained to Matt---this one showed up today, and now I have all of these drawers full of knives that I don't know exactly what to do with, because this is just THE ONE. Dammit, I've been in pursuit of the perfect EDC fixed blade for so many years, now I've found it, and I miss the chase already! :(

As I type this it's sitting next to the keyboard, mocking me; DARING me to pick it up again...

I know Warren-he has a BOATLOAD of knives-and if he is impressed that says A LOT.
If he says this is the ONE--then higher praise to a knifemaker can not happen
Well done Matt.....

Thanks guys. Warren, I am very glad you like it. I am a little humbled now...your kind words are more than I deserve. I hope the next one I make lives up to the standard.
