W2 integral bowie/fighter

Nick, That so excellent, both the knife and you. Your a great person with a lot going for you. I am glad you made it to the top of your Everest. Keep hiking and climbing. Jim

woa that is one of the prettiest knives I have ever seen, the contrast on the hammon, the wood, and the sheet, as well as the whole design and overall look

Beautiful job - truly a masterpiece :D:thumbup:

NOw.....if only there were a WIP thread about the making of this knife........:p:cool:

I had the extreme fortune of being able to handle this at the ABS Expo last weekend, and the pictures, as top-notch and superb as they are, don't do the knife full justice.

Being able to feel the curves and fit of the handle to your hand, experience the balance, lightness, and quickness of the blade, and marvel and the blade finish and cleanliness of lines just puts everything together in your mind about how a big knife is suppose to be.

This bowie is the most nicely balanced knife I've ever handled. Nick's grinds and transitions and tips are inhumanly crisp and clean. And the flow of the knife is clearly evident from the pictures.

As I was wandering around the show and talking with Nick a few times, I heard several different people comment that this knife was the best knife at the show. And there were many TOP makers present.

Congrats on getting that one delivered, Nick. It seems as Coop is thrilled with it as anyone would be. I appreciate getting to meet you, pick your brain, and handle your work. God bless.

5 years was well worth the wait just to get a view of the pictures of this Nick.
Simply beautiful work and an attention to detail that is astounding.

Well Nick... that just about makes me want to give up and go home. :D

This bowie is the most nicely balanced knife I've ever handled. Nick's grinds and transitions and tips are inhumanly crisp and clean.

This is what blows me away about Nick... his junk blade drawer has blades in it cleaner and crisper than most anything I've ever seen. He says he's not obsessive-compulsive... but he definitely has drive toward a level of perfection seldom seen; one that I greatly admire but most definitely do not aspire to (for sanity's sake).

Paul's sheath and Coop's photos aren't too shabby either.:thumbup:

I'm glad to see you finishing and posting more of your work Nick. I also appreciate you taking the time to share some of your processes, tips, widgets and gadgets... though I'm still waiting for the ebay dude from Monroe to send me my baggy of powder. ;)

That knife is just so beautiful. Absolutely superb and it's very good that Coop's photos were the first many of us saw of it. I'm sure it's better in person but at least the pictures are as good as possible for the first impression.

I also really appreciated your description of what went into making it.

Thank you guys! :)

If I keep futzing around with this stuff, hopefully one of these years I'll start feeling like I've got a little bit of it figured out.

In the mean time, I am enjoying the heck out of getting to be in the shop again (even though sometimes I want to pull my hair... er...uh... bald scalp... out. ;) ).

Jim- I think the world of you and your words of encouragement are certainly most appreciated my friend! :)

Nathan- it was really great to finally get to meet you and shake your hand!!! Of course it had to be after falling off the work-out wagon and gaining 25 pounds of fat in the last couple months  :barf: ;) Seriously, I really am glad you got to see the show and hope it got you fired up for the next time you're in your shop!!!  I think I still owe you dinner though!

Erin- we need to figure out a time to get you back for a visit. Now that things have slowed down for me it should be much easier to do. :)

Thanks again guys! :)

The first word that went through my head when I saw that was holly, you can guess what the second word was. That is beautiful piece of work and something to be proud of.
Thanks for sharing it.
