W2, Micarta Recurve with Hamon

This is some W2, forged out and left with the forge scale on the flats. The spine has been fileworked and the blade has been clay quenched for a nice hamon. It was then hand sanded to 2000 grit and etched to bring out the details.

The handle is linen micarta, held in place with regular pins and one mosaic, along with acraglas. The I bought the bolster material under the heading of "bone Micarta", but I believe it is some sort of solid phenolic. I did not see any fabric in it. I rapped one with a hammer to make sure it was strong enough, and it appeared much stronger than bone.

The handle is 8-10oz hand tooled and stitched leather. The knife fits snugly and draws easily.

Dimensions
Blade - 9" tip to handle
OAL - 14 1/8"

Price - $415 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

Wow, that's a real beauty! It has a great hamon to!

Nice. I'm really getting into your knives after just discovering them. You do beautiful work and when I get the money I look forward to purchasing one or two from you.

Alright, alright. I'll take it. :)

For anyone interested, this means that I'll have to sell a couple of Matt's other knives that I've gotten over the last couple of years. Look out for posts in the Custom Knives for Sale by Individuals forum, or feel free to contact me.

I haven't seen a knife that you've made that I didn't like but I absolutely love that one. Spectacular.
