WOW, that is one pretty skinner, sure hope it ends up being a user. Very very nice.
The hamon is amazing, the blade shape, the handle are beautiful. Congrats.
Best regards

Robin

that skull is freaking me out man!
Handle is awesome:thumbup:

The tip was chrome polish etch clean with chrome polish then clean with acetone repeat. I got this in two shots. John jump in hear if I am telling them wrong. Don is that how you do it.

Zowie, Dave,

That whole knife pops.

That skull would give me nightmares, looking at me like that!

Don needs to chime in on this hamon deal, but what Dave and I were talking about at Blade was, after clay hardening and tempering, sand to 1000g, clean (I'm cleaning with original 409 now) etch appx 8 sec, polish with Semichrome, repeat til you like it.

I'm working on a big W-2 chopper now, Dave. Hope it turns out as nice as this.

John

Thanks John I know it will. and I do not sleep in the same room as skully I am not that brave. I must head to work now you all have a great day.

Don is that how you do it.

Pretty much the same as I do. I sometimes use a 3M sanding sponge to clean the blade between etches, but the semichrome work very good. I also use 409 for a cleaner.

Good lookin knife, Dave!!!

Thats beautiful. Help me out here, as I don't know alot about knifemaking. I see a hamon but also a quench line above it?

Jon, we get that a lot with W2. kind of a double hamon. Unless Dave did an edge quench?
I do a full quench and get the secondary line most of the time.
