Don I am doing a full Quench but line is coming from the way I am heating the blade I never cycle the heat into that part of the blade. How do I do this I use my induction forge. it works very well on W2. I can get a 62 rockwell on the edge with it
Dave, after a lot of experimenting with my elec oven, I went back to using my forge to heat for quench. I like to be able to see what's goin on while the blade comes up to heat. I heat the whole blade but I'm pretty sure the spine under the clay is not up to full heat. I have been looking close at one of those induction forges. Looks like the cats ass
Don I think you would like it I saw a blade you did and I thought you might have one as your blade had the same line in it as I get with my way. it makes crazy fine grain and and there is no better way to draw back a spine. there is some other things it helps with like welding on bolsters I could go on . you can get into one with a cooler for about 4G witch is a tho less then I spent the price has come down.
