Well folks, I'm ready to start shipping W2......again. Same price as last time, $3.50 per pound, shipped. I have 2-5/8" round stock from the same melt as the other rounds I sold. This is my favorite steel and I've tried it all, this stuff will produce some super crazy hamon, lots of activity. And is a Super performer. See my old W2 thread for more info.

Spec.s

C .95,
Mn .22,
V .19,
Cr .15,
Si .23,
Mo .013,
Ni .08,
Cu .14

This is Big stuff, a 1" long piece of this 2-5/8" W2 will make a giant 12"+ blade. A 3" or 4" long piece is smaller than most damascus billets we forge, so the size is easily worked with press or power hammer.

I'm cutting these bars 7" long to fit a Flat Rate box and to keep the weight more manageable, they weigh 11 lbs each.

4 bars (44lbs) for $154 shipped Priority Mail in the US.

Paypal address: info@sunfishforge.com
Check or money order is fine also.

PO Box 13

Thanks Much!

The last W2 batch, a couple months ago went quick, 28 boxes in less than a week.

I have enough W2 bars cut for 30 boxes this time. This is the end of the 2-5/8" and might be the end of my W2 selling. I do have some 2-3/4" but not sure if I want to let it go :)

Hi Don, I'll take 1 box of the W2. I'll send you a money order, and a PM

Thanks

I'll take another box Don.

Anyone flattening these bars on a powerhammer for a fee?

Thanks guys!!! I'll start shipping it out tomorrow, Monday.

John, it'd be great if you could forge some down for folks.

Rick Furrer on Don Fogg's forum has also offered to forge some.

i would love to take 1 box or 2 if i had someone to forge it.
please let me know if someone would do that!

thanks

tao m, check with JMJones above, or Ric Furrer at Fogg's forum. One should be able to forge it for you.

Guys, 5 boxes goin out first of the week. Thanks!

After practicing on a box of steel that I purchased from Don, I feel comfortable offering to forge down stock. I will forge it to approximatly 3/8 by 1 or 1.5 inches. This will get most bladesmiths within the range that they can forge by hand. I will offer two options

100 dollars per box, which is the same price charged last year by another smith

or

45 dollars and I keep one of the the four pieces of round stock. Please email me or send a pm though this site if you are interested.

both options plus actual shipping to your location.

Thanks

John
