Hi guys, here is a big wharncliffe fighter in W2 I finished and is available. Here’s the specs,

W2 3/16 thick
62RC
Tapered tang
Crosscut black canvas micarta scales with black linen micarta liners/red G10 pin stripes.
1/4 copper corby bolts
11 inches overall length
6 inch blade
Black holstex sheath, large tek-lok ready

I thought it was a by product of lamination / combining more than one steel.

Yes, it’s called a hamon. This blade was differentially hardened. The cutting edge is harder than the spine. I etch the blade in ferric chloride to bring out the hamon.
