This one is forged from W2 from Mr. Hanson. It has been clay quenched for a nice and bold hamon. The flats have been left as forged, and the bevels are polished to 2000 grit. I like the contrast between the two, plus that 2000 grit finish really helps to reveal some of the details of the hamon. The hamon on this one is very bold. I think the pictures captured it well.

The more I use my own camp knife with the wrapped handle, the more I like it. This one I used hemp cord. It looks much nicer than the jute I had used in the past, less fuzz. The "bolster" is leather tied in a turk's head knot. The whole thing is soaked in epoxy. I used Raka epoxy, which is similar to West systems. I used it to build a boat a while ago, and it really holds up well, plus it is waterproof. I wrap it over a layer of leather to add some width to the tang. It tends to help it fill the hand a little better.

The sheath is one of the first I have made with my new sewing machine. The stitches are nice and even and hold it all together securely. The knife fits deeply and draws with the flick of the wrist. It is hand tooled.
