Here is a knife I forged from W2. I hand sanded it to 2000 grit in order to bring out the hamon. The etching really brought out the details of the hamon, but I am not sure they really came out in the pics.

The handle is wrapped in a Japanese style. I soaked it in epoxy, boatbuilding epoxy that is strong and durable. It feels pretty good in the hand and provides good grip, yet helps keep the weight down.

The sheath is 7-8oz leather from Wickett and Craig. I did an overlay of upholstery leather on part of it. I kind of like the look, but I might change up the angles on other knives.

Dimensions
Blade - 3 3/4" tip to wrap
OAL - 8 1/2"

Price - $225 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

Terrific work, Matthew!

The tri-level colorations on the blade are blended perfectly into the wrap, and the underwrap spotlights the sheen of the blade. All very harmonious!

First time I've seen your work - it won't be the last!
