What do you mean? Wood or iron part? Wood is decorated by mini-milling tool and steel part is patinated by ferric chloride. No stipple or sandblast

Thanks, sorry for my English, I'm still learning. I do not know what the word for it in English. The partially hardened I mean hardening only cutting part of the blade that is visible after etching.

Do you mean tempered, where the edge is harder than the spine? Differentially tempered? Nice looking.

Looks to me like it'sdifferentily hardend. only the cutting edge was quenched. Cutting edge hard and spine soft (softer then diff. Tempered.)

Yes, I mean differentially hardened. The cutting part of blade is harder than spine.
