: Puts on tinfoil calculator hat :

$487 for 27" (I believe) = $18 per inch

18.5" x $18 = $333

I win...:D

Edit: Reality just set in :grumpy: Since then, steel prices have soared as well as the cost of productions for any company. And the fact that these are infi, not D-2 (right?)... Wish my first statement worked though :D

The new AK will be longer than the old one. . . . . You figured the overall length of the old one verses the proposed blade length of the new one. . . The original AK only had a 15.5" blade. . . . Using your calculations and applying them to just the blade length, the new AK would be over $700.00 IF it were still made out of A-2. . . . . .and it were still 8 years ago.. . . . hmmmmm. . . taking all of these other considerations in mind, the New AK should come in at approximately $48,513.26   . . . . . I like your thinking!!!!! :D

I hear KAAK my be selling body part  Jerry looks like you'll be first in line :D  :D

Well, if we take $487 divided by the 15.5" actual blade, that gives around $31.50 per inch. If Jerry says the new blade should be $700, that leaves me to believe in about a 22.25" inch BLADE!

That's a very, very yum thing!

Cheers,
BJB :D

I was figuring off of the original price with micarta handles at $587.00. . . .

We are shooting for an 18.5" blade. . . . but may end up in the 17" blade length range due to machining restraints.

We did some prototype testing today that proved to be very promising!!!!

Awesome performance!!!!

Jerry

CoolBeans :D I would rather see a 17-18 incher as opposed to 22-23 inches myself, but it's all good!!

The Tanto TAC is showing at BadMojo as the current offering!? Will the Tanto and AK be offered together? That would be brutal...in a good way of course

I'm looking at Bad Mojo but not seeing a picture of the Tanto TAC.
Am I missing it, or are you referencing the text about it?

Thanks,
B.

I only saw it in the text listing the models, prices and when the are projected to be offered again when you scroll down one page. I had thought it strange that the Tanto TAC had not been listed as a part of the current line up on the left menu. You only find it in the pictures of Blade '03 linked at the top left. Sweet looking knife.

I think that page is still being updated because the SJ TAC has not been moved to the bottom with the others that have gone out of season. And there is a typo on next release of Tanto TAC.

In any case the suspense is killing me. I never thought I needed a sword before and now I am finding all kinds of reasons ;)
