wait wait....WHAT!?

Sometimes Sportsman's Guide has some real bargains. This looks like it could be one of those times. Ten tarp kits for $20 + S&H means you could stash one or two in several places or packs. Notice they are not what I'd call big, though. This is where I got turned onto Mora Clippers. They were something under $10 each when I bought four of them with OD handles and sheaths. One went to Iraq with a friend of mine, one went to California to a kid I thought needed one, and I still have a couple. Look very carefully at the wording in SG's ads. If you expect something to be military surplus you must be certain that's what it really is, not "military-style" crap from China.

You can get those over here for £8 each.

EDIT: Scratch that. I've just seen them for £4.99 from the same place that will sell you a 7*5 plain poly sheet like this

for £6.50.

Something is wrong.

In the picture it's got a Nato Stock Number. The -99- indicates the country (Canada's -21-). I think 99 as a country actually means it can be distributed Nato-wide. It's definitely military, but I'm thinking that with the tarp being poly rather than nylon, you wouldn't want to use it all the time. Looks like something meant for disaster relief, etc

A 6X8 poly tarp, some cordage, and a few 6" galvanised spikes will cost half as much though. Still, it's only 20 bucks...

Wow, first read I thought the price was each but they only had 10 in stock. I take that part back, thanks Spooky!

I hate when I'm wrong, lol

Damn you all......;)

I just bought the 10 pack. I'll let you know how they look in person in a few days.

From their description on some British websites, these do not have grommets or other form of attachment points. That should be easy enough to fix. The illustration packed with them shows it used to cover a trench, then subsequently covered with dirt.
