Waiting for a new knife to be delivered makes me feel like a kid

I keep clicking on the tracking information link - as if the more I do it, the quicker the truck will get here!

I'm about to go out and shovel the 5 inches of heavy (heart attack grade) snow to make sure the postman has a path if he has to come to the door.
99.999% chance he won't though since at the first sight of his truck, I'll be out the door like a shot.

About the only thing more thrilling at my age is waiting for my free birthday breakfast @ Denny's (which is tomorrow!)

Two new knives & a free breakfast on back-to-back days! Be still my pounding heart!

Thanks for the laugh, way too funny!

And I can relate 100%. I'm a whole different man when a knife is on the way, haha

Edit: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I feel your pain, been waiting on two I ordered over a week ago.
Happy Birthday!
And be careful with that shoveling.

Happy Birthday, I know what you mean about checking the tracking# :D Good luck and have a great day hopefully playing with your new toys very soon.

I am waiting on my first CRK (inkosi) and I am hoping the snow and ice goes away this week so the mailman can get near my house.

Yeah, I know that feel.

I've got 3 carothers blades waiting for me to get them. One has been delivered but I cannot pick it up due to weather. 2 more are stuck in UPS and not moving due to weather.

Hoping this stupid snow goes away soon!

I know what you mean. I drift off to sleep thinking about the new arrival, like Kermit in The Muppet Christmas Carol: "Only one more sleep 'til Christmas." :D

I must be the odd man out - I'm not waiting for any knives...but I do have a couple things due to arrive on Thursday. Couldn't help myself, I checked the tracking overnight; knowing it will be two more days.

Don't feel bad - -it's not just knives, but, everything.
I swear as I get older, I'm going to start ordering stuff online every day - just so I have something to enjoy waiting for :D.

I'm starting to understand why all those little old ladies watch those TV shopping shows :D

I remember sending in cereal box tops in the Dark Ages before color TV, and waiting what seemed like decades for the prize to arrive.

~ Sounds like a Real 'Grand Slam' Lol:D
I think we all know that 'Chomping at the Bit'
feeling of the New Knife wait...
Apparently, I needed a Natrix XL...so that's on route ! Cheers:thumbsup: Have a good day!
B.T.B.

I don't have anything on the way but I know the feeling. At least today, shipping is fast from sites like BladeHQ, KnifeCenter, etc. Tracking is just a click away. It's not like when some of us were actually kids, ordering X-Ray Specs from the back of a comic book or something.

My closest modern experience is ordering things direct from China. I don't do it often but Kizer occasionally has a new knife available there first. There are also flashlight companies like Sofirn offering special tints, configurations, etc. exclusively from their Chinese shop. Shipping can take a few months and tracking can be a mystery. Being older now, I tend to forget and it feels like a surprise when the package finally shows up.

I hear FLORIDA calling you....
p.s. It's nice here...

Whenever I feel like the days are passing too quickly (a feeling I don't like), I think to myself "Maybe I should order a knife. That will make time pass REAL SLOW".:D

I think we are totally spoiled when it comes to ordering things these days. I remember back long before the internet when you had to mail an order in (paper mail, not email), then wait "6 to 8 weeks for delivery". No tracking number, no email confirmation, no customer service phone number to call. Now THAT'S torture.

Heck, I place an order with Amazon, and sometimes my package arrives the same day. And that's with the free shipping option and no Prime. Wonderous times we live in.

Lol, enjoy that new knife. Jack says, don't bother waiting on the mailman today. :)

I mostly enjoy the anticipation . Tracking is generally better these days and shipping is faster .:thumbsup:

Long ago , stuff from China could take many months and tracking either nonexistent or funky . :(

Finally found some tracking one time from one shipper but was in Chinese (I think ). But I figured my package must be at least there somewhere , if they had data .

Anyways , Happy Birthday OP and take care of your ticker ! ;)
