Waiting for my HEST....

There were a lot of people wanting to go ahead and reserve their number so I assume the best way to do it was put them on sale.

Hmm I geuss thats cool. But I just wish that would have been on the web site. This way I didn't have to sit here and wonder if 1 of the shit heads on my block picked it up.

Thanks for the update Jeff. By the time July 8 rolled around I'd really be starting to wonder.

I was just about to post something on this. I can't wait!

What numbers did you order?

Oh well I guess I will have to go to Mozambique next week with my RC3 and Izula.

I ordered the HEST with my RAT Pack number, #044 :) Wish I could trade my Izula and RC-5 for #044 as well!

Just ordered HEST #187... This baby is gonna be a killer!!! Damn July 8, thats too long of a wait. Guess i'll just prepare a list of whats to be kill when this baby arrives. My RC-5 did great with 2 pigs, 1 lamb, a whole lotta chickens & ducks, and a goat. All good eating...

Nice collection you got there smcclown05. Out of all you RC-3 knives which one works the best? They are different dimensions right? Would you prefer the RC-4 over the RC-3? Thanks just wanted some advice. I just ordered the HEST but still thinkin bout the next RAT in line. Might have to just end up getting the whole rat family like you did. lol

The RC-3's I have are the same dimensions as far as I know. The SWAT knife is different only cosmetically and has red liners instead of the normal green. The MIL has serrations, sharpened glass breaker pommel and the canvas micarta handles. Haven't used either of those too much.

I prefer the orange handled RC-3 with the OD blade. I've got it hooked onto a tek lok and I wear it horizontally on my belt while on day hikes here at the battle field. That way my shirt covers it and I don't get a bunch of weird looks from other park visitors.

If I were on a longer hike or out car camping for a weekend I'd take the RC-4. But seeing as how I haven't been getting out camping much, the RC-4 has been seeing lots of kitchen duty. It's starting to develop a nice patina :)

Nice collection and a solid patina inbound.

Just ordered 2 HESTs. Now all I need is an RC5 to complete the line-up. I just don't want it to take the place of my 6 as my go-to bigass chopper. I've really fallen in love with that RC-6 as my truck-knife. Got it from a member here and saw that he just ordered another one; couldn't stay away.

I don't think the RC-5 will replace your RC-6. They are two different animals. So carry on with your purchasing!!! :)

I just got this E-mail. You think they will do a 3day air to me if i pay for it?

We just wanted to inform you that Robert has Come Back Alive from his latest adventure in the Middle East.

This means he can begin shipping your DPx HEST along with your complimentary signed hardcover copy of ?Licensed to Kill? this week. If you live in the US you should be receiving the goods in the next couple of weeks. International shipments may take a little longer and you may be contacted separately to arrange for quick shipping.

We thank you for your patience and look forward to hearing your feedback on the knife!

Got the same email. Time for count down. Wish they would give us a specific date though. Man this waiting period is killing me... Well all good things come with patience... damn can't wait no more been on this forum everyday trying to hear some good news. Good thing the boss made it back alive. Now he needs to concentrate on us US folks and make sure we get our prize. Can't wait to get the HEST in hand... urggggggghhhhhhhh!!! got to stay cool:cool:

The wait is over! My HEST #0044 was waiting for me when I got home this afternoon. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.

This is a very cool knife. The canvas micarta scales are really grippy. The thickness and length of the blade is quite substantial in comparison to the narrow, low profile handle. Seems like a great travel knife. I really can't wait to see what the next generations of the HEST have in store for us.
