blargh. I hate this feeling, AND I have to work @ 5 so I might even miss him :(

Do you guys have any tricks for getting over knife shipping anxiety?

I have this idea however, I think I should continuously buy them so I can never have a day without a knife shipment. What do ya think :)

Think you must be a millionaire or something. I'm kinda stocked to get my 35 lb piece of G-11 to mount up my microlathe I got for christmas.

Play with knives until the new one arrives. It will keep your mind off the one you have coming in if you are actively doing something with them.

I've been having a simmilar problem with a new bit of computer gear (ok, ok, new computer game, there's little else to do during half my collage free periods) playing on a different game didn't help. So I went down to the garage and fiddled around trying (and failing) to make a stand to hold my phone and I-pod for charging and linking to the computer. I'm still waiting. maybe tomorrow.

Just keep a steady flow of incoming in the pipeline so every day or two something shows up. Even you you just order a Mora it helps keep the "Where is the mailman" jitter away. The most fun is getting a knife you forgot you ordered!

WHOOO!

I thought I ordered the plain edge but apparently I didn't. I'm debating whether to keep the combo or not. :) Merry Late Christmas to me

Dude, I know how you feel. Same college situation, and have been waiting for an edgepro that I have saved up money for (feels like a year since I started saving)....

I have the alcohol going for me though! ;)

What about the poor UPS guy who has to deal with an over-anxious knifenut waiting/salivating in the front yard when he pulls up, and then there's that awkward "hug" that follows.:D

Congrats on that sweet knife.

I am in the exact same spot! I ordered my Spyderco Native and Ladybug on the 26th, and I called the company New Year's Eve to see if my order shipped yet. They said it was in my town that day! I waited.... nothing. Next day was New Year's, so they were closed, but the guy said it would be here on friday. Which is today. It is 7:08 p.m. and no UPS man. Tommorrow will be sautrday and I have this very odd feeling that if I don't get it tonight (which I'm sure I won't) then I'm not going to get it tommorrow. They are closed sunday again, and I'm leaving on monday and coming back wednesday. So I don't think I'm seeing my new knives any time soon. Call me a pessimist, but last time I waited around for a knife all day it never came either. I hate UPS.

Does anybody know whether they leave packages by the door if you aren't there for delivery, or do they bring it back for pick up? I could have missed him earlier this morning, though I doubt I did.

I hate UPS.

+1

UPS ground is teh slow, and you pay $9-10 too.

You can have US Priority mail for $4.75 and get 2-3 day delivery.

I tend to avoid sellers who use UPS ground to ship a 5oz knife, it's just not efficient. I will even pay a few dollars more to find a seller that ships Priority.:D

+1.

I'm lucky enough to only live 20 minutes from my favorite knife dealer, so ups only charges about 6 bucks, and I get it the next day. But, when I'm ordering from a far, far away place, priority is the way to go.

Turns out I was waiting around for nothing because the package was in my mailbox the whole time!

Which is actually somewhat inconsequential because my roommate still had the key and didn't come back until 7:30 p.m.

I'm waiting right now, I won't get my delivery till the 8th. Argh! So I play with what I have and wait...

Actually, it's kind of a good feeling in a weird way. "Something good is coming. Something good is coming..."

Not everyone can have that feeling every day.

Re the awkward hug - I got my first true custom just a couple weeks ago... the FedEx guy must have thought I was insane, I was practically foaming at the mouth while I was signing for it...
