Waiting time after wood travel?

A little OT here but Ironwood really will kill most sawblades.

Last summer when I asked my boss if I could use his bandsaw to "cut down some wood to size" he said sure , little did I know that my Ironwood would dull the bejeebus out of his blade , and he was not a happy camper. :D
